Western Sydney Airport has restricted access for many personal aircraft, stranding owners including mining billionaires Gina Rinehart and Chris Hanson stranded.
The fresh airport, which opened recently, has limited entry for all but a select group of operators.
The move hits some of Australia's most affluent business figures who previously relied on easy access to Sydney.
The airport will run entirely on renewable electricity.
