A 7.4 tremor shook Mexico’s Pacific coast shortly before 6 a.m. on Friday.
A broad tsunami alert went out for coastal strips along Mexico and Guatemala shortly thereafter.
The ground kept jumping, affecting towns further north into Guatemala and El Salvador as well.
Shortly after 4 a.m., a 7.3 quake shook the same area.
No information of harm or damaged buildings came in after the warnings.
