Josh Worrell, Adelaide Crows forward, who is a regular player, was in a minor crash that happened Friday before training session for the scheduled Gold Coast match.
The accident hurt a nearby pedestrian, who authorities then took to a hospital.
Worrell was not taken into custody at the scene of the incident.
Teammates told reporters on the sidelines Worrell seemed upset after the crash.
Police now investigate the incident as reported, and have issued a statement to the press.
The club has indicated they will check if Worrell can play in the game against Gold Coast, pending fitness assessment, if fit, and will consider the decision shortly.
