Max Verstappen claimed victory in the Formula 1 sprint race at Marina Bay in Singapore on Saturday after race leader George Russell crashed out in wet conditions. Verstappen also claimed pole position for the main grand prix, completing a strong day for the Red Bull driver.
A collision between Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll turned heads during the sprint. After his win, Verstappen told reporters F1 should get rid of sprint weekends at circuits like Singapore, where overtaking is almost out of the question. The main race is planned for Sunday.
