Governor Gavin Newsom signed new laws to reduce ICE operations in the state. The laws include bans on police using electrically conductive gloves and support measures for immigrant groups. These measures follow a incident where a young girl's body was discovered in a dumpster, leading to the mother's detention. The new legislation aim to respond to issues related to ICE activities and support immigrant communities.
