The NFL is phasing out the annual Pro Bowl match after 75 years. The league is pulling the plug on the actual game, but top athletes will still be honored. Players will still be named as Pro Bowlers to earn their annual honors.
Player honors will remain intact despite the elimination of the event. However, alternates will no longer be recognized by the league. The ruling brings an end to the 75 year history of the annual game, but leading stars will continue getting their official Pro Bowl accolades each season.
