The Pokémon GO Fest 2026 launch includes a global timed research called “Genetic Mastery”. The research focuses on Mega Mewtwo X. Polygon, Insider Gaming and Sportskeeda have published the steps, tasks and rewards in this quest. Completing the research unlocks rare items and an opportunity to catch Mega Mewtwo X in raid encounters.
The two‑day event runs Saturday through Sunday. On Sunday trainers may enter 5‑star raids and mega‑level raids featuring the new Mega Mewtwo X. Mein‑MMO noted the timing and prizes across both days. The event also provides extra XP and higher catch odds for every monster over the weekend.
