A massive earthquake shook Mexico this morning. The tremor continued a few minutes and measured 7.3. Its center was off the coast near Guatemala. The jolt arrived at 11:10am local time. Intense shaking spread fast. Tsunami warnings went up at once. Mexico and Guatemala faced alerts for high waves. Shoreline dwellers moved quickly to elevated ground. Aftershocks continued, some strong. The biggest aftershock reached 5.0. No major damage or injuries reported yet. Homes and streets were quiet in Chiapas and nearby areas.
