Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and sailors serving aboard the USS Tripoli headed home on Wednesday. They wrapped up tours assigned to the 5th and 7th Fleets. Around that same period, many Marines and sailors stationed in Okinawa went back to their Japan post after missions connected with the Iran situation. The Tripoli moored at its home port in Okinawa, ending its deployment. The U.S. Marines and the Royal Australian Air Force completed joint drills at Dyess under the Trident Fury program this week. In Vancouver, the police marine unit saved a newborn seal pup that had been left alone.
