A beluga whale was relocated from Marineland in Niagara Falls, Ontario to a Chicago aquarium. It died shortly after the move. The move took place before the loss.
Marineland also transferred four dolphins and two belugas to an aquarium in Spain. Now the park no longer houses dolphins. Only belugas stay at the park.
The transfer left the facility quieter. Staff monitor water quality and animal health. Visitors notice a smaller number of animals. The park’s visitor count dropped.
The wooded surroundings remain the same. The water continues to be strong. The park houses only a few belugas. Visitors observe fewer scheduled shows. The water stays clear.
