The Minnesota Lynx beat the Golden State Valkyries twice in late August. Minnesota won 77-66 on Aug. 19. The teams clashed again Aug. 24 at Target Center. Minnesota held the top seed. They were undefeated against Golden State yet. Courtney Williams missed the game. Her right foot was injured. Without Williams in action, Minnesota was unable to clinch the top seed in that contest.
