Pierce said Williams spoke with production bosses when demands for overtime from kid cast members piled pressure on the set. The actor, by all accounts, reportedly pulled staff aside to put a stop to it, looking out for green young performers who had little say. Pierce raised the story during Williams' 75th birthday week, in remarks shared this past week, underlining the backstage help Williams showed when cameras were off.
